Applications Engineer

This individual plays an important role in supporting Control Technology Corporate’s Customer Base and Sales Staff. The selected candidate will be self-motivated, ambitious, be willing to carry a varying work-load. Some travel is required (about 15-20%).

Responsibilities:

• Assist the sales effort in expanding CTC’s customer base via phone, email, and in person
• Assist customers in developing new automation solutions while properly presenting how CTC’s products would be best used in the customer’s application
• Support new customer projects during initial startup phase and in existing projects
• Support/write application programs in various languages, network topology recommendations, electrical wiring suggestions and troubleshooting
• Interact with CTC engineers during the introduction and testing of new or in the support of existing products
• Assist with creating and conducting product-training programs including audio visual aids and demo equipment

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in E.E., E.E.T., M.E., or C.S.
• Knowledge and experience with real-time electronic automation control and practices
• One or more years of related experience
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to write well-structured programs
• Excellent troubleshooting skills

Preferred:

• Experience in sales/applications
• Experience in motion control technology
• Knowledge of Ethernet networking technology and practices
• Experience in Visual Basic, C, or Java programming is a plus
• A basic understanding of analog, digital/microcomputer and sensing devices as well as the dynamics in controlling mechanical systems
• Will consider recent college grad with proven knowledge and ability
